Energy
With four offices in the region, we have good connections with leading trade organisations and figures in the energy industry locally, nationally and internationally.
We also have strong relationships with other organisations including UKTI, banks, accountants, planners, and clients ranging from companies involved in the offshore energy industry, oil majors, engineering companies, landowners, developers, shipping, haulage and warehousing companies - all with an interest in the energy industry. Together with these connections and our overall business law expertise, our energy team is well positioned to help with the development of the East of England into a 'world leading all energy hub'.

We are active members of EEEgr (www.eeegr.com) and Andrew Wood has held the post of company secretary since EEEgr's formation in 2000. To complement our membership of EEEgr, our energy team comprises lawyers from all disciplines involved in property, corporate, construction, commercial contract, employment, dispute resolution, shipping and international work.
Extremely technical and legally complex issues require a well coordinated multi-disciplinary practice approach with lawyers working together as a team with the client and technical advisers. We regularly assist clients with a variety of issues facing the energy industry, in particular looking at renewables but also more conventional energy supply chain issues. This includes advising on wind and solar farm option agreements, power purchase agreements, outsourcing and supply agreements, construction and engineering contracts, planning and environmental issues arising from on shore wind farms and solar panels, environmental impact assessments, agriculture and biomass engineering, technology transfer agreements and protecting engineering developments and intellectual property rights, overseas employment contracts, international joint ventures, raising finance and facilitating deals, settling disputes both national and international through mediation and arbitration, and shipping and haulage issues, including charter party disputes.
